Finance Director / FP&A / SaaS

Becksford Group have partnered exclusively with a start-up SaaS MarTech business located in central London to appoint a Finance Director (reporting to the CEO) with a heavy focus on strategy and commercial decision making.

The Role:

Reporting to the CEO, the Finance Director is a transformational role and the first senior hire into finance, with full accountability for building the finance function. This role is very heavily weighted toward strategy and commercial finance, requiring someone with a strong knowledge of operational FP&A but also higher-level exposure to fundraising, FDD, complex modelling etc. The immediate focus is:

  • Modelling for upcoming funding rounds (approaching Series B)

  • Ownership and redesign of complex business forecasts and ARR cashflow forecasting

  • Customer and competitor analysis

  • Implementing KPI dashboards across the business

  • Understand the necessary triggers to scale the finance team appropriately

  • Introduce and implement a new finance system and planning tools

The Person:

The successful Finance Director must be passionate about commercial finance and highly analytical. They will be required to plug-and-play into the business, finding their feet quickly in a fast-growth start-up tech environment. It is therefore critical that this person understands the growth trajectory of a successful SaaS tech start-up and is familiar with the journey our client is on.

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified

  • A deep understanding of the SaaS model and metrics for accurate forecasting (imperative)

  • Experience working in a senior FP&A or commercial finance role

  • Complex modelling skills ideally with exposure to FDD, modelling for funding rounds and long-term business planning

  • Ability to Finance Business Partner with operational management to provide insight into business performance

  • Demonstrate the ability to ‘own’ your role through impact ownership and value creation

The Business:

My client is an early-stage SaaS MarTech start-up in a fantastic position for growth. The market they operate in is flying, the product they have is inspiring and they are already turning a profit (for a start-up at this stage, that is very rare but, makes the conversation with investors very easy).

The business is data-driven and expect everyone who joins to recognise the commercial value of data.

The Package:

£95,000-£110,000 + share options
